We have lots of extraordinary new resources to help us achieve our independence! With the help of other European countries such as France, our scientists have invented some remarkable weapons.
The most common weapon is also the most efficient, the musket. With our newly invented bayonet, a sword-like blade attached to the muzzle of a musket, hand-to-hand combat is easier. If the opposing troops advance while we are reloading, we have a chance to defend ourselves!
Another lovely weapon, which will surely win the war for us, is the ever critical one, a cannon. We only need 14 soldiers to operate them, and once the shot is fired we can take out dozens of redcoats. The shots can also reach up to 800 yards!
Officers, and other high ranking people in the army, are given swords and sabres. Even George Washington was given one! Though mainly for ornamental reasons, they still provide good defense for hand-to-hand combat.
Yale graduate David Bushnell recently invented the Turtle, a submarine designed to crash the hull of invading British warships. Unfortunately, the submarine itself did not destroy the hull, so a bomb left behind exploded and angered the British even more. Though this particular invention failed, hopefully it is the gateway to a better navy.
These new and improved weapons will surely help us finally get what we all deserve: An America free from England!
